As a player who was pretty good young, but rarely in the media/scout spotlight like some of my adversaries who went on to NCAA and CHL careers and beyond, I am encouraged to share this amazing article with you, by our consultant, Ryan Donald of Yale University.
My own path is one that no one could have written in advance and have me believe it. I never played midget hockey, never tried out for a team until I was 15, played 4 years of Junior A in 2 provinces, got traded but didn’t report, played 7 years of professional hockey in places you may or may not imagine even existed (think Switzerland, England, Scotland, and Texas), and have found a life in hockey where I feel I have never worked a day in my life (except some tough days in restaurants and landscaping:)
Ryan’s article, his path, touches on questions 100% of our Prep Camp families are asking around their living rooms this season. This article is relevant for our female campers, you have a million troubling questions as you navigate modern day female hockey too!
