Dear Prep Campers,

Prep Camp 2013 smallHello and thanks for your registration for this summer’s camp. I can’t believe Week 1 is around the corner. I am heading to Port Alberni on Friday morning, and am managing your inquires as quickly as I can get to them. This year will be our biggest to date, and I want to be sure to streamline the communication. Please see the points below as they may pertain to you.

I have done my best to have relevant info on the website. If you have a question, please check online first. www.prepcamp.com. The FAQ tab has all these links below.

  1. If you are using our transportation service ($35 each way) you MUST fill out this form when your final travel plans are made. It is the master list we use to coordinate travel. With many moving pieces, this travel component is very important. Don’t miss your ferry, as there is only one bus that comes to pick you up. We have moved the arrival times later in the day this year, to streamline our pick up, and give interior families, and airport pick ups more time to arrive and catch the bus. https://www.prepcamp.com/transportation-information-form/
  2. What to bring: visit this link: https://www.prepcamp.com/arrival-departure-and-essentials/
  3. We need every player’s health insurance numbers, which are not always recorded at the time of registration. If you have not provided your health insurance number (or are not sure if you have) please fill out this form: https://www.prepcamp.com/health-insurance-form/
  4. Lunch plan: If you are not staying in the dorms, we highly recommend the lunch plan for $85. Most day campers end up purchasing it on registration day. This is completely fine, but the sooner our catering staff know the exact numbers, the better we can serve you all. Please email nate@lgsports.ca (me) if you want to add it to your account.
  5. For our up to date coach roster (more TBA): https://www.prepcamp.com/2013-coach-confirmations/
  6. Finding the rink in Port Alberni: https://www.prepcamp.com/getting-to-port-alberni/
  7. Schedules will be ready soon. Weeks 1 and 4 are fully up to date on the website. https://www.prepcamp.com/training-schedule/
  8. Player feedback: This year players will know by Tuesday Day who their evaluator will be. During their exit interview, players will be asked to fill out a quick feedback form, and entered to win a spot for 2014.
  9. We have grown over the past few years, which is a critical requirement so that we can continue to provide the best experience and coaching staff possible. As such, we want all returning players to have the opportunity to sign up early. Registrations for 2014 will be made available immediately following camp to avoid missing out later in the year.

  11. If you would like to add anything to your account ahead of time, it helps us be prepared to best serve you. Just let me know (dorming, lunch, t-shirt, hoodie, transportation).
  12. On ice groupings: We do our very best to get your player in the right group, and use Monday to make sure that is the case. We very frequently get requests to ‘move up a group.’ Please remember, if we moved up every request, there would be no one left in group A, and 2x too many players in Group B. Every player is on his own path, and as an example, our Junior A group is for Junior A players, not players dreaming of playing Junior A one day! Each group, from Bantam, to Midget, to Junior, will have a few players that stand out. That is OK! We need to stick to our policies, and keep players in their age and experience appropriate groups. We thank you in advance for your understanding, and appreciate that you want the very best for your son and daughter. We have tried to be clear about the exceptions to our levels. For example, if a player has AP’d in Junior B or Major Midget, then he/she is given the opportunity to train with that level.
  13. Outstanding Accounts: For various reasons many campers have outstanding accounts. You’ll be able to square these accounts at registration.

Sincerely,

Nate Leslie
Prep Camp Director
