Gearing up for 2013

We have some exciting news for you, and I know your time on email is limited, so I’ll keep it brief today.

Western Michigan coach Spiros is the new GM of the Alberni Bulldogs.

Firstly, 2012 Week 4 feature coach Spiros Anastas from Western Michigan has signed as the GM of the Alberni Bulldogs, BCHL. Good luck Spiros!

Since 2009 our legal name has been the West Coast Hockey Prep Camp, but we have always used The Junior Prep Camp in our marketing to keep with the tradition of the camp. Since that time we have expanded our programs to include the Elite Female Camp, Referee Development Camp, and the Junior A to Pro camp. Over the coming year we will be re-branding parts of our marketing to reflect the incredible location and geography of the region, as well as our expanding programs. When you see West Coast Hockey Prep Camp, rest assured it’s still us, striving to improve your experience, learning, and exposure every year. Our principle mandate is to provide world class coaching and exposure to help players reach their next level. We know how lucky we are to live on the West Coast, and to host our camp in such an incredible location. We want players and families from around the world to know that they can come here for a great camp, and also for an unforgettable life experience.  Day trips to Tofino and Sproat Lake are in the works for 2013.

Registration:

Registration for 2013 is up and running.  Monthly installments give you the next 10 months to pay for camp.

Bantam Showcase:

We have added a ‘Bantam Showcase’ feature week for elite bantam players in week 3, and removed bantam from week 2 to make sure all the elite players born in 1999, 2000 get the best possible experience and exposure to WHL, Junior A, and Junior B coaches/scouts. We want to give bantam players an extra week of summer as many play spring hockey into late June.

Twitter Honour Roll:

Twice per week we will be featuring player success on Twitter. Follow @prepcamp and let us honour our great list of alumni! Let us know where you are playing by filling out this very quick form: Prep Camp Alumni Form.

International Efforts:

Due to the success of our international efforts we will continue to focus on creating this unique experience. 2012 hosted players from New Zealand, Hungary, Switzerland, USA, and Canada.  English tutoring will be available for international players in 2013.

Our Mission Remains the Same:

World class coaching remains our #1 mandate. We’ll be announcing our guest coaches in the coming months.  For those of you that missed it in 2012, our coach and scout list over the 4 weeks was one of which we are truly proud. Click here to see our full list. It includes: 1 National Team, 1 AHL, 1 NCAA, 1 CIS, 8 WHL, 8 Junior A, 3 Junior B, and 3 skill development experts, Compton Sports staff, Pro4 staff, and many local part time staff that helped camp to be our best one yet.

Good luck to all this season. We’ll be in many rinks during tournaments over the course of the winter. If you see us, please say hi!

Regards,

Nate Leslie
