Port Alberni English Language Academy
The P.A. English Language Academy is an intensive ESL summer program that focuses on the four basic skills of writing, reading, listening, and speaking. Through this program, students will be able to benefit from quality English language instruction taught by professional secondary school English teachers accredited with English degrees. The summer program can be built into the daily Prep Camp schedule and customized to fit the needs of the player. Rachel Reynolds
Rachel Reynolds graduated from Vancouver Island University in 2006 with an Honors Bachelor of Education Degree and an Honors Bachelor of English Degree. She has been teaching Senior High School English at Alberni District Secondary School in Port Alberni since 2006. In 2012, she taught a summer ESL program for Leslie Global Sports Junior Prep Camp. Rachel’s background includes many years involved in athletics as a B.C. Certified Fitness Instructor.
Shaun Rust
Shaun Rust (B.A 1994 and B.Ed. 1997—both from the University of Regina) has been teaching Senior High School English for fifteen years. He taught at Western Canada High School in Calgary, Alberta for nine years, where he also coached football and basketball, as well as taught in the International Baccalaureate (I.B.) Program, an internationally recognized curriculum. Since 2007 he has been at Alberni District Secondary School in Port Alberni, British Columbia, where he has been teaching all levels of Senior High English. Shaun has also been the English Department Head at ADSS for the past four years.
