In the fall of 2013 Trail Smoke Eaters’ MVP Brent Baltus will be heading to Michigan Tech to play NCAA Div I Hockey.  Brent has been a regular at Prep Camp for many years, and we take this opportunity to celebrate his success, and wish him all the best as he realizes his dream of playing NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey.
In 47 games this season with the Trail Smoke Eaters Brent made a huge impact on the team.  As their Top Scorer Brent tallied 24 goals and 28 assists for 52 points, a 1.1 point per game average.  This is an extremely difficult task for any player in the BCHL, often recognized as the top Junior A Tier 2 league in Canada.  The Team MVP, Brent was also named to the BCHL Second Team All Star roster, and was awarded the Vern Dye Award as the Interior Conference MVP.
A resident of Nanaimo, BC, Brent has taken advantage of the Prep Camp training, exposure, and learning opportunities available for many years.  Brent will participate in the Junior A to Pro group in Week 4, August 5-10, 2013.  We look forward to Brent’s leadership within the group, and wish him all the best this fall.
